Organic Inca Inchi oil

Extra virgin, cold pressed oil from Sacha Inchi seeds from organic agriculture in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. A “fair trade” project was founded to support the local farmers and their crops are bought at a fair price.

Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) seeds are a rich, plant-based source of Omega 3 (48%), but also contain Omega 6 and 9. Of all plant-based Omega 3 oils, Sacha inchi has one of the highest levels of natural antioxidants (vitamin A and E) and is therefore one of the most stable oils.

The oil has a delicious, mild taste with a slightly nutty finish.

Recommended use

Take 15 ml (1 table spoon) per day as a natural source of Omega 3. Season salads, soup or pasta. Use the oil in vinaigrettes, mayonnaise or for cooking.

Can also be applied as nutritious oil on body and hair.

Store in a cool place protected from light. Once opened, consume preferably within 1 month.

SUITABLE FOR HEATING

Sacha inchi oil is one of the highest sources of plant-based omega 3 (48%) and tocopherols (> 200 mg/100g).

Research has shown that the oil can withstand heat for 15 min at a temperature of 190°C without altering significantly its quality and properties. Furthermore, the oxidative stability of this oil is higher than other high omega 3 rich oils like hemp, chia and flaxseed oils.

Its smoke point value (225°C) is also an indication that this oil is a suitable choice for cooking. The high content of antioxidants contributes to its capacity to sustain thermal stress while maintaining its quality.
